Subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn.

Subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn is an uncommon, self-limiting panniculitis that usually occurs in full term infants as a consequence of perinatal asphyxia. We present a one month old infant with diagnosis of subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn associated with persistent anemia and thrombocytopenia.
