Abstract

Introduction: Rosacea is a common chronic recurrent inflammatory skin condition that mainly affects the central part of the face. Although not life-threatening, rosacea is associated with significant psychosocial morbidity, with reports of people with rosacea reporting increased depression and anxiety that can negatively affect routine daily activities. RosaQol is an internationally validated tool that allows measuring the specific effects on the quality of life in patients with rosacea. The article discusses what is related to the validation of the RosaQol scale.

Methods: This is a validation study of the measurement scale in health, 105 patients diagnosed with rosacea over 18 years of age were included and several stages were determined, including the selection of the scale, translation, preliminary test, validity tests, reliability tests and determination of its usefulness.

Results: 105 surveys were analyzed and it was concluded that Cronbach's alpha test was reliable, a coefficient value of 0.849 was calculated, which is considered acceptable as it is between 0.7 and 0.9.

Conclusion: RosaQol, showed in its translation and validation its consistency, correlation and reliability for our Colombian population. These findings allow the use of this version to assess the impact of quality of life.
