Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease that is produced by a flagellate protozoa of the genus Leishmania and is transmitted to the human through the bite of a female Lutzomia sandfly. The clinical features are varying and they are related with the infectious specie of Leishmania, the environment and the immune response of the host.
