Abstract

Lupus erythematosus tumidus. Part II

Lupus erythematosus tumidus is an uncommon disorder which is characterised by erythematous urticarial non-scarrying plaques. It has a high photosensitivity and a clinical course with relapses and spontaneous remission. Histologic features include perivascular and periadnexal lymphocytic infiltration and interstitial mucin deposition including the absence of changes on the surface of the epidermis.

We present the case of a 55 years old male that came for a erythematous urticarial plaque on the forehead. We initially thought in Hansen's disease due to its frequency and regional epidemiology.
